Gaza - Yasser Arafat International (LVGZ)

Yasser Arafat International Airport (IATA: GZA, ICAO: LVGZ), formerly Gaza International Airport and Dahaniya International Airport, is located near Rafah, by the Egyptian border and is 35 km (22 mi) southwest of Gaza City and 105 km (65 mi) southwest of Jerusalem. It opened in November 1998 with attendees at the opening ceremony including Yasser Arafat and US President Bill Clinton. The airport's buildings were designed in the renowned Arab Islamic architectural pattern of intricate arches found ornamenting old buildings in Jerusalem.
